im 13 and haven’t hit puberty,
The reason behind puberty
The major reason behind the occurrence of puberty is the actions taking place hormone wise. It all begins in your brain due to the triggering of the pituitary gland by the hypothalamus thus resulting in the production of these hormones.
What are the changes that take place in boys and girls at this stage?
The release of these hormones results in changes in testes in the case of boys and a change in ovaries in the case of girls. In the case of boys, their reproductive organ starts the production of sperms and also produces male sexual hormone testosterone which helps their reproductive organs and also helps in the continual development of their genitals.
In the case of girls, their ovaries begin releasing ovum every month which is basically the reason behind menstruation. There is also the release of the female sexual hormone progesterone and estrogen.
Most of these changes that hits every kid in puberty namely the enlargement of breasts in girls and the development of pubic hair in boys are the result of the release of these hormones. However, the rate and time of growth differ from one individual to another. Even the order of development differs.
